If you’re thinking about visiting Extremadura, you’re in for a fantastic trip filled with history and nature. In Mérida, don’t miss the ancient ruins and try to go during the summer to catch the theater festival. Cáceres blew us away with its old town that feels like stepping back in time.
We had a great time at Monfragüe National Park, where the bird watching and views are awesome. We haven’t been to the Jerte Valley yet, but we hear it’s beautiful in the spring when the cherry trees are in bloom.
